Organizational Training
The purpose of OT is to develop the skills and knowledge of people so they can perform their roles effectively and efficiently. The ability to overcome the five dysfunctions of teams is a critical contextual skill needed to successfully perform in the organizational and social context of the project and support groups. From marriages to large government projects, few things involving people happen without teamwork. Normally, we see that the better the teamwork the better the results, because organizational processes require effective teamwork to produce optimum deliverables. Reaching a optimum level of positive teamwork is not an easy task. And anyone, who has worked on more than one team, understands the connection between team development and team results. Addressing the five dysfunctions of teams should be a top priority for every program manager, project manager and team member. Dr. Plemmons is an Assistant Professor in the Civil Engineering Department at The Citadel in Charleston, SC. His research areas include Quality Management Systems, Organizational Maturity, Critical Thinking, and Adult Learning. In addition to teaching civil engineering and project management, Keith is President and CEO of VAB Group, LLC, in Charleston, SC, a provider of business consulting and training services. Keith is a registered professional engineer in South Carolina, a certified Project Management Professional, and an active member of professional and community organizations. Keith earned his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Clemson University in 1995 and his B.S. in Civil Engineering from The Citadel in May 1980. His twenty years of government and industry experience includes stints as Program Manager/Sr. Project Manager for Datastream Systems and Project Quality Manager/Senior Project Engineer for Fluor Corporation in Greenville, SC. His overseas experience includes two years as Chief of a Construction Project Office for the US Army Corps of Engineers in Okinawa, Japan, where he managed Japanese and American contractors. He has been married to the lovely Charlotte Buckles Plemmons for 20 years, and is a better man as a result.
