<title>Terms of Usage</title>
<description>Please read the following rules and guidelines very carefully. By proceeding to post you agree to these guidelines and must follow them at all times. Refusal to follow these guidelines will result in the appropriate responsive actions.

We have implemented the following guide for using on all our forums. This guide is designed to strike a balance between the main goal of our forums, providing support, and keeping the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere of our community which has made our services so popular.

We require all posts to be positive, constructive, and on topic. We may delete individual posts that could ruin a good topic thread.

Please do not post up huge reams of cut and paste text, but make things easier for others by summarizing the article and including a link to the unabridged version. Please note: because of server space and performance issues, old posts and entire threads may be deleted without warning. PLEASE MAKE COPIES OF THREADS IMPORTANT TO YOU

We reserve the right to remove any topics we deem inappropriate or disruptive to our community. Please note that, from time to time, topics may be removed for being inappropriate even though your individual post in that topic may have been perfectly fine. Please do not feel this reflects badly on you.

Having fun is good, we like fun. Please keep it positive and polite. We do not censor opinions or ideas on our forums but we do take action against posts and/or topics that could cause unrest in the community beyond a civil and polite disagreement.

You may not make personal attacks on other users or web site operators.

You may not use profanity. It is unprofessional and offensive and will not be tolerated.

We reserve the right to ban any member who violates our guidelines or disrupts our community. We will be fair and provide warning in most cases.

If you have an issue concerning our services or policies, please use a personal contact method such as a private message or email to a web site operator (see Contacts). We take serious complaints to heart and will do our best to address them.

The Golden Rules
" Each forum member may have only one account.
" There will be no excessive use of profanity.
" There will be no racial, ethnic, gender based insults or any other personal discriminations.
" There will be no posts meant to offend or hurt any other member, in a manner which is offensive or inflammatory.
" Spamming is not permitted; please keep all your posts as constructive as possible.
" Pornography, warez, or any other illegal transactions may NOT be linked in any shape or form.
" All posts are property of the poster. This forum and all web sites owned in conjunction with this forum have the right to request alteration or deletion of any offensive post. Posts may be deleted for any reasons the forum administrators deem reasonable.
" Users may not argue a moderators decision publicly. Any and all complaints directed at a moderator must first address the moderator in question via private message. If the problem can not be resolved, then the moderator and user must send their positions to the forum admin. The forum admin will make or change any and/or all final decisions.
" Remember to post in the correct forum. Take your time to look at other topics and see where your topic should go. If your topic is placed in the wrong forum, it will be moved by a moderator.
" Any impersonation of a user, moderator or administrator from these forums, in any mode of communication, is strictly prohibited and will result in being banned.

Violation of any of these rules will result in consequences determined on a case-by-case basis. Thank you for visiting the SC SPIN Forums and we hope you enjoy your stay.

These terms of use are subject to change without notice.

		<title>Frequently Asked Questions</title>
<description>Here is a brief explanation of some of the questions you may have about the Forum. If you don&apos;t find the answer you are looking for then please contact the WebMaster

How are the forums arranged?
The forums are organized into one or more Conferences where each can contain one or more forums. If only one conference exists then you will directly go to that conference which lists all the forums. Each forum contains postings that might present a question or thought. These message postings effectively start a &quot;thread&quot; to which registered users can add a reply.
	Conferences 1
		Forum 1
			Thread 1
			Thread 2
		Forum 2
			Thread 1
			Thread 2
Do I need to login to read posts?
No. Anyone can read the forum postings.
How do I search the forums?
You can search the forums using the Search button in the top-right menu.
How do I recover/reset my password?
To recover/reset your password click on the &quot;Login&quot; link in the top-right menu. This will provide an option to have your password emailed to you. In some cases, the password may be reset to ensure an account is no longer accessible in case it was compromised. You should change your password immediately after logging in again.
How do I register to post messages?
To register an account, click on the &quot;Login&quot; link in the top-right menu. This will provide options to login, register or retrieve a lost password. To register, complete and submit the form. The Forum will send an email to your provided address to ensure it is accurate. The instructions will ask you to click on the link in the email to complete the registration. Clicking on the link will confirm your registration and permit you to access the forums.
How do I cancel my registration?
Contact the WebMaster&lt;/a&gt;.
What if I don&apos;t receive my registration email?
Registration confirmation emails are sent immediately. You should receive an email within 5 minutes. If you have not received an email then do the following:
  1. Verify the email address is correct - this is the most common error.
  2. Check your email system (computer, computer, network,
mail server, etc.) to ensure all is functioning correctly.
  3. Check SPAM or Junk email filters.
  4. Contact the WebMaster
Are the forums moderated?
Yes. A moderated forum means that messages postings might be altered or removed if content is objectionable. In some cases, a thread might be moved to an another forum or conference if appropriate. At the present, moderation is passive which means that postings are immediate but will be reviewed afterwards by a moderator.
How do I manage my account?
You can change settings to your account using the &quot;profile&quot; button in the top-right menu. Your profile permits you to change your displayed name, password and change thread subscriptions.
What is the Forum&apos;s etiquette?
The rules of etiquette of the forum are for your own good as well as for that of your fellow members. Please follow them.

The fundamental is that the forum is run as a service by SCRA/ISG to the SC SPIN group. As professionals we do not want to waste our time. Blatant advertising is NOT allowed although there are courteous ways of referencing a product. The Moderator will not accept postings that break this rule.

The simplest way to add to an existing thread is to reply to an email on that particular topic. In replying there are a few basic considerations to make your message easy to read :

Links to other web sites, even commercial ones, are acceptable when built into messages as long as they relate directly to the ongoing discussion and will be of genuine benefit to the others involved in the discussion.

Members are encouraged to include a &apos;signature&apos; at the end of their postings, giving their name and affiliation. It is acceptable to include a commercial link within the signature but not to include any advertising material with it.

The Forum supports &quot;gravatars&quot; which are pictures that automatically show up in your postings (matched by your email address). To use this you need to register at the Gravatar site (http://www.gravatar.com/) and provide a picture.

HTML is not allowed. Some formatting tags are available - look for the &quot;Tips&quot; link.
Can I use HTML tags anywhere in my posts?
No. HTML tags are stripped off for security reasons. There are a few options to prevent formatting (code) or include an image.
How can I follow a thread without logging in?
You can follow a thread discussion by subscribing to the thread and having the messages sent to your email address. The subscribe option is available while viewing the thread using a link in the top-left menu. You can manage your subscriptions from your Profile.
What is the RSS link for?
The RSS link provides a synopsis of the discussion threads that can be retrieved by an RSS reader. This does not require you to login to the forum. Many email and Internet browser clients (Outlook 2007, Thunderbird, SeaMonkey, Opera, etc.) provide built-in RSS readers.
